Prologus Auctoris

I, Carolus Y. Arphienius, was born on the Ides of March, the day on which the Roman dictator perpetuo and imperator, Gaius Julius Caesar, was stabbed 23 times and consequently assassinated by his fellow Roman senators, chief among those Brutus, Longinus, Casca, in the Theatre of Pompey, dating back to 44 B.C.. This day marked the fall of the old Roman Republic and set the stage for Augustus Octavius’ new political order: the principate rule, or commonly known as the Roman Empire.
